What is the best thing about being your age?

The best part about being over 50 is that we get to a place where we give little merit to what others think or say about us but we still have energy and health to fully live adventurous lives.

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?

Trekking to La Ciudad de Perdita Santa Marta Colombia...three nights with travelers who were mostly half my age.

​What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Freedom to travel and have a place to return to surrounded by those i love.

​What is your most treasured possession?

My great grandmother's 1906 Singer Sewing machine. When i use it, my forearms lie in the grooves created by years of wear from my grandmother and great grandmothers

​What advice would you give your younger self?

Say yes more often, try new things, do things you love even if you are not good at them. Don't listen to anyone who tries to dim your life force. You are amazing. Go out and get your best life.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

It is probably unfair for me to claim as my achievement, but my daughters are amazing–each with their own strengths, each challenge me to be my best.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would live less in fear and take more risks.

​

What is your greatest extravagance?

Travel, but I travel frugaly.

​

What is a trait you are most proud of?

My super-power is listening.

What is your motto or favorite quote?

When you are through learning, you are through living.

Your life is your own, live it the way you wish. Don't settle and don't give-up on yourself or your dreams, just so that others will be comfortable.
