What is the best thing about being your age?
Finally realizing that Being is preferable to Doing.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Raising two boys while working full-time in Silicon Valley and doing two plays a year, and the fact that we’re all close as they’ve grown up.
What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?
Doing a 100-mile solo hike in Scotland in my 50th year followed by training with Kristin Linklater in the Orkney Islands.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Starry skies, blue sky, birds, a giant cup of hot coffee and a good book.
What is a trait you are most proud of?
My intuition and the ability to see opposing sides to an issue.
What is your greatest fear?
Being trapped in a cell with no way out.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Stop second-guessing myself.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Books, 70% dark chocolate, and regular trips to the hairdresser.
What do you most value in your friends?
A positive outlook, a sense of adventure and knowing they have my back.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Relax. Don’t take things too seriously. Play more.

I’ve started thinking of life in terms of acts in a play. By 50, we’re into Act 2. Given that we could easily live to 100, we have to think of this as a new beginning versus any kind of ending. With our wisdom, experience and resources, this is the time to do life our way.
