What is the best thing about being your age?
Gaining an obsessive appreciation for the beauty in nature.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Making a film of, by, and for People With Aids.

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?
Exploring my family’s homeland (Brno, Czech Republic).

What is your most treasured possession?
My grandmother’s yellow star from Auschwitz.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
On a sultry summer night the rain lightly spanks the earth, lightening streaks the sky. I am in a bleached white cotton nightgown…the kind I love and men hate. My bed is crisp with line-dried sheets, and there is a bowl of gardenias stewing on the nightstand.

What is a trait you are most proud of?
My biting humor.

What is your greatest fear?
Dying slowly and painfully. That should be good for the campaign.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d exile my anxiety.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Spoiling my adult daughters whenever I can.

What do you most value in your friends?
Generosity with their spirits.

What advice would you give your younger self?
Never stop doing comedy.

What is your motto or favorite quote?
Hold on to your fork…dessert’s coming!
