What is the best thing about being your age?
That I’m not any younger! In so many ways, life is easier now than when I was in my twenties and thirties. I don’t give a flying fuck about what society thinks I should be doing. I’m living my life with authenticity – I know myself better now than when I was younger – and I forgive myself easier when I make mistakes. And, I understand we all make mistakes on occasion – I’ve learned that one the hard way.

What hardships have you endured that have made you stronger?
No hardships, only learning opportunities.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Finishing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Understanding that it would be foolish to chase perfect happiness.
To enjoy the moments of bliss and satisfaction and gratitude as they appear in everyday life.

What is your most treasured possession?
My problem solving skills.

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?
Growing and raising happy humans.

An unbridled faith in the future of humanity.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
That’s a useless question. If I could change it, I would. And maybe I already have.

What is a trait you are most proud of?
My love of reading.

What is your greatest fear?
To be bogged down in fear. It keeps you down.

What do you most value in your friends?
Loyalty to my cause.

What advice would you give your younger self?
There are no shortcuts in life. The two greatest skills to sharpen are determination and gratitude.
