"Do something different with your day - you never know who/where/what you might come across that might trigger an opportunity, an "a ha" moment, or give you an idea to get you to the destination you are aiming for."
What is the best thing about being your age?
Experience and knowing that no matter what happens it is all heading in the right direction.
What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?
One of my hardships recently was when my dad passed away. He left an estate that was in disarray, inclusive of a medical practice with nine employees. I had to become the owner of the medical practice and shut its doors within a few short months. This included letting go of all the employees. It was devastating to them, the death of their employer and the loss of a job with no reprieve. and I felt all of it.
How did I get stronger? Because I had to make some life decisions that affected people who were strangers to me. I had to learn how to navigate the emotional crisis (including my own) and believe that I was making the right decision in the most empathetic way possible.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
The energetic love of your dog.
What is a trait you are most proud of?
what is your greatest extravagance?
flying first class!
What advice would you give your younger self?
You've got this - believe it!
What is your motto or favorite quote?
"Your body hears everything your mind says."
Words of wisdom for younger women
Sometimes the changes we want to make seem insurmountable. Many times I have been frustrated and felt stuck in my life. I have learned that sometimes it's the smallest shifts that bring the most benefit.
Small shifts in all aspects of my daily life, not only taking online classes or researching the places I wanted to be, but walking a different path on my way from the parking lot to work, driving a different route, meeting strangers and even talking to the weird guy in the elevator have given me some of the best moments to spur me on.
Do something different with your day - you never know who/where/what you might come across that might trigger an opportunity, an "a ha" moment, or give you an idea to get you to the destination you are aiming for.
It's never about the number.
