Graphic Designer/Web Developer/Artist & Muse
"Follow your dreams and trust the journey. There will be long, uneventful stretches, sharp turns, bumpy roads, rest stops, and a few near misses. It will all start to make sense and you’ll be proud of where you’ve been and love where you’re still going."
What is the best thing about being your age?
Accruing wisdom, wits, and confidence. Insight provides the foundation for making better choices. Having a sense of humor helps not take it too seriously if it doesn't exactly work out as planned. And trust in myself encourages me to forge ahead!
What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?
I grew up with misguided messages about relationships, boundaries, and the importance of self-care. I have come to realize I am not to blame for my past, but am absolutely responsible for my future. And that’s what gives me power.
What is your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?
Marrying my best friend.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Freedom from self-limitations.
what is your greatest extravagance?
My art studio, creative tools and toys.
What is your most treasured possession? My wedding ring. The diamond belonged to my husband's grandmother and was gifted to us by his parents. I envision the precious stone being a timeless connection between generations and look forward to continuing the tradition of passing on the love.
what do you consider your greatest achievement?
I feel fortunate to have that be a difficult choice! High on the list are accomplishments I've made during a hi-tech career, acting on stage and in film, and being a co-creator of an amazing son.
What is a trait you are most proud of?
My creativity. Collaborating with others to realize their dreams makes me happy.
What do you most value in your friends?
I value support, insight, understanding, unconditional love, courage to tell the truth, and forgiveness. The ability to make a good cocktail is a bonus!
What is your motto or favorite quote?
"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced." – Vincent Van Gogh What advice would you give your younger self?
Follow your dreams and trust the journey. There will be long, uneventful stretches, sharp turns, bumpy roads, rest stops, and a few near misses. It will all start to make sense and you’ll be proud of where you’ve been and love where you’re still going.
Words of wisdom for younger women
If you can genuinely say, "I love who I am when I am with you,” then you’re with the right people. Surround yourself with them!
