What is the best thing about being your age?

Freedom to be myself and have control over my time.

What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?  

1. Financial loss.  I learned money isn’t everything.  Through belief, love, perseverance and hard work we overcame and prospered.

2.  Recent loss of two sisters within a five year period to cancer. I still grieve.  I have learned how important it is to cherish every day and value my relationships.

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?

A Trip to Uganda. For most of my life I have felt a draw to Africa and received an opportunity to travel there in 2019 with my daughter.

What is a trait you are most proud of?

My lifelong commitment to and relationship with God.

What is your most treasured possession?

My family.

What do you most value in your friends?

Acceptance, sharing and longevity of our relationship.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? 

I’d be thinner, not only for vanity reasons but for health reasons.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Believe in yourself and trust your dreams.

What is your motto or favorite quote?

"You can look back but don’t stare.”

The freedom I have found in aging allows me time to slow down and savor each day and aspect of life.
