What is the best thing about being your age?

The best thing is the wisdom I’ve learned that comes from living a full , sometimes complicated, but mostly joyful and passionate life.

What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?

There were hardships early in life that were difficult to process as a child. From emotional neglect to incest. To a closeted gay father and a houseful of foster kids. I learned early on that nature was the most peaceful and safe place for me. I also learned to be very creative which I credit my mother for. She taught me how to use my hands.

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?

Riding my 1200 Indian scout motorcycle on a 2800 mile round trip on mostly backroads.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being happy with myself. Being present with my family. Being who I am.

​

What is your most treasured possession?

My family.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

More then one: Motherhood. My work. I persevered and never gave up. My son and daughter, who are awesome humans.

What is a trait you are most proud of?

Generosity and kindness. Helping others less fortunate.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Personal care, great outfits, live music, awesome truck.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Have way more fun – life is short! Continue an active healthy lifestyle daily.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t be shy, it’s a waste of time. Don’t give your power away just because you’re a generous person. Always look at the half-full glass. It’s the little everyday wins that add up to a successful life.

What is your motto or favorite quote?

Get busy living or get busy dying.

You are powerful beyond your wildest dreams. Don’t settle. Believe in yourself. Yes, it’s hard, but challenges make you great.
