What is the best thing about being your age?

Loving myself enough to set and maintain boundaries without hesitation. I don’t do things I don’t want to do out of obligation and it leaves more time to do the things I truly want to be doing, making life more fulfilling.

Favorite thing you've checked off your bucket list?

Being a mother to an amazingly talented daughter.

What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?

My parents divorced when I was 6 and I was raised by a single mother. I learned to set goals, work hard, save money and rely on myself.

 

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being healthy and safe and aligning talents for a greater purpose.

What is your most treasured possession?

My uncle worked at a jewelry store when he was in his early 20’s. He gave my mom (his sister) a sterling silver bangle bracelet that was created from a spoon. Soon thereafter, he was tragically killed in a car accident. Many years later, my mom gave it to me and I cherish it immensely. My mom and I still refer to it as “The Power Bracelet.” I wore it at my wedding and I wear it when traveling or whenever I need to feel power. I feel protected and watched over when I wear it.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I self financed my college education, bought my first house with my savings and have earned everything I have.

What is a trait you are most proud of?

I’m dependable.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Being more comfortable with conflict.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Traveling as frequently as possible.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Invest in real estate as soon as possible.

“If the neighbors aren’t talking about you you’re doing something wrong.” People will always gossip, don’t let it bother you. Your true friends will rise to the top. Be the one who encourages others.
