What hardships have you endured that you feel have made you stronger?

I have endured so many hardships that have each caused me to grow–from abusive relationships to staring down the barrel of a gun to
breaking through the glass ceiling, and many things in between, not the least of which was being run over by a car while crossing the street in front of my house. Crazy! Each was super challenging in their own ways but knowing I survived the one before fortified me to push forward in getting through instead of giving in.

 

What's your favorite thing you have checked off your bucket list?

Still working on it!

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Knowing that when I leave this reality, my kids and grandkids are happy and healthy, and have always been unconditionally loved by me.

What is your most treasured possession?

The sewing machine my father took me to buy when I was 8-years-old.  With that one machine I taught myself to sew and shortly thereafter began creating all my school clothes and later some of my best fitting suits.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

When i get to the end of the road i'll let you know. I'm guessing it will be the typical response from a mom – that i raised amazing kids despite my spectacular mistakes!

What is a trait you are most proud of?

I am very resillient.

What is your greatest extravagance?

The violet Claude Montana suit I bought at Nordstrom Designer department nearly 40 years ago...that I still have today!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

That I didn't enjoy sleep so much! : )

What advice would you give your younger self?

Aging is a process that is different for all of us lucky enough to experience it. Enjoy the ride and savor the moment you are in right now.
