to be my authentic self. I have tried to strip away everything that was masking that, and embrace everything that felt honest. For the most part I’ve become the kind of woman I wanted to be. I am a woman who is independent and creative, funny and bright, kind and empathetic. I have aimed for enough confidence in my womanhood to burst through society’s gender roles—like Garbo, Dietrich, and Hepburn, and maybe a little David Bowie thrown in too. Women can get away with a lot more unconventional behavior, fashion, attitude—and I do my best to take full advantage of that.
